Day 308: On Time (for once)
I'm a procrastinator, big time. I was happy to get all my homework done for the week WAY ahead of schedule. The best part is that I'm sure I'll be happy about this later in the week too!
Over the course of the past nine years of my twenties I have had a lot of great experiences and met many wonderful and amazing people. Most of them, however, would describe me with one word: bitter. This is not to say that I am a horrible, awful person but, instead, a general pessimist who tends to focus on the negative side of things. So, I’ve challenged myself to fix this perception of me.
The Mission: To change my negative attitude before my thirties. I feel that I have experienced and accomplished a lot of unique and interesting things in my twenties and I have a strong desire to raise the bar in my life by changing my attitude and making my thirties the best that they could possibly be.
The Rules: Each day beginning on August 31, 2008 I will post one unique experience that made me happy that day. The experiences must be unique and original (i.e. as happy as my mother makes me in my life, on Mother’s Day I can not blog about how happy my mom makes me).
The Goal: I hope to gain a real grasp and understanding of how to reel in the positive experiences around me and use that energy to enhance and enlighten my life. What excites me the most are the bad days (and there will be a few I’m sure) where I will have to challenge myself to look for the good in the day. This is where I will learn the most I’m sure.
Inspiration: This project is a twist of another project done called "In The New." In her blog, blogger Jen Mac did one new thing everyday from her 29th birthday to her 30th. It was (and is) a very inspirational blog to me as it made me think about how I want to cap off my twenties. Check it out at: www.jen365.blogspot.com
